NBC picks up Brooklyn Nine-Nine for a sixth season

Just days after FOX announced that it was cancelling Brooklyn Nine-Nine, NBC has picked up the show for the 2018/19 season.

The network has ordered 13 episodes and the show's entire cast is set to return for the sixth season.

Multiple parties were reportedly interested in picking up Brooklyn Nine-Nine, but the hope for a revival seemed a little fainter when online streaming sites Hulu and Netflix both revealed they were passing on the show.

NBC is the sister network of Universal Television, which produces the show and previously licensed it to FOX.

When news broke that Brooklyn Nine-Nine had been cancelled, anger at FOX's decision sent the show to the top of Twitter's trending topics.
